You are now able to start monitoring addresses and offenders.

Why is the system not sending the activation message to my e-mail address?

There are two possible explanations for not receiving the activation e-mail.

    1. Service providers may block e-mail messages that appear to be spam as a service to their customers. To help keep Florida Offender Alert e-mails from getting blocked by spam filters, you should place no-reply@floridaoffenderalert.com in your e-mail contact list. If you continue to have messages blocked from the Florida Offender Alert System, please feel free to contact techsupport@crimewatchalert.com for assistance.

    2. You may have accidentally typed in the wrong e-mail address in the New Account field. Try re-adding your e-mail address in the New User section. If you still are not receiving the message then your service provider may be blocking the e-mail. See explanation #1 above for assistance.

How do I log into the Offender Alert System after my account has been activated?

Insert your account e-mail address in the “E-mail Address” field in the Login section of the home page. Type in your account password in the “Password” field and click the “Submit” button. You will then be taken to your home page.

Click MONITOR ADDRESSES to access the Address Monitoring page. Here you can enter the address(es) of interest (your home, school, church, business, etc.) that you would like to monitor. The Florida Offender Alert System will send you e-mail messages when an offender or predator updates his or her address information within a certain distance of any address you are monitoring.

Once you have entered all of the addresses and offenders you wish to monitor, and you log out of the system, you will receive another e-mail confirming your account information. This e-mail will include all of the addresses and the offenders you have signed up to monitor.

I have forgotten my password, how can I get into the Florida Offender Alert System?

How many addresses can you register to monitor?

You can enter an unlimited number of addresses.

Will Florida Offender Alert System tell me of the offenders/predators who already have an address within my set radius?

The system will only notify you when an offender or predator moves into the area you are monitoring. To obtain a listing of all offenders around your address(es) of interest please visit http://www.flsexoffender.net/offender/Search.jsp to access the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Sexual Offenders and Predators System and conduct a Neighborhood Search. You may also search for offenders in a specific city, county, or zip code using the Offender Search feature.

I noticed that when I entered an address to monitor, it added a radius for the address. Why did this happen and can I change the radius?

The system uses technology that automatically sets a radius based on the population of offenders and predators in the area of addresses provided by the citizens. You can change the radius for any address by clicking the “edit” link next to the address on your monitoring list. These radiuses are adjustable from ¼ mile to 5 miles.

I entered an address, but the system told me that it was unable to locate the address I had entered. Why did this happen and what can I do to receive alerts?

Because of Florida’s ever expanding population, new addresses are created quite often. Unfortunately, the system’s mapping software is unable to keep up with this growth. A strategy you may choose to utilize is to locate a nearby address that is mappable. Usually an older, established main road will work.

I signed up for an account, but haven’t received alert messages. What is the problem?

Have you listed any addresses or offenders to be monitored? If not, you must provide the Florida Offender Alert System with addresses and offenders to monitor. The system is not able to recognize your home address based on the e-mail address used to setup the account.

If you have added addresses and offenders to your account then there may not have been any updates to the area or offenders you are monitoring. The system will only send alert messages when new information is reported.
